From an early age, I have always been excited by numbers. I was top of the class in maths at primary school and when I finished sixth form, I studied Business Studies at College. However, I am now a Fractional FD without a calculator and much more comfortable partnering with people and solving their problems.
With over 25 years of experience in finance and operations, I have built a reputation for enhancing the performance of organisations as a skilled and expert leader. We are living in incredibly challenging times, there is no such thing as the norm anymore. Businesses that can adapt will survive and succeed.
During 2021, I decided to change direction, set up my company Saoi Ltd and am now looking to explore and develop opportunities, very much 'Shawshank Redemption' and 'Get busy living or get busy dying'. Saoi is an old Irish word for a wiseman but sometimes I do wonder as my young grandchildren very much keep me grounded.
In my current role as a Fractional FD in Norfolk, I work with a variety of clients managing a range of finance and non-finance-related tasks. I am very motivated and creative and strive to be successful in every endeavour.
My goal is to excel and provide the best client service. It comes back to my ability to connect, understand, and work with people at all levels in an organisation, understanding their needs and providing the best solution.

At present, a company is deemed small for filing purposes if they meet 2 of the following criteria;

Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill (see link), the Government is reforming how companies report, what they report and when they file.
This will change your relationship with your Accounting firm, invariably adding more cost. Instead of a light touch and the submission of an abridged Balance Sheet, a Profit and Loss will need filing. The option to submit abridged accounts will be removed.
